Events
We are hoping the following events will happen,
Video Competition
This will probably be on Saturday evening.- To compete, one member of the team which produced the video must participate at BUC. It can be either:
- the person who filmed
- the person who edited the video
- one of the main riders (not someone who appears only few seconds)
- The video should be new material and should not be released until after BUC
- The film cannot exceed 3 minutes; it must be about unicycling, not a commercial video
Concourse Competition
Which is the nicest, shiniest, prettiest unicycle with the best paint job, most desirable addition or sweetest modification. Enter your own uni, vote on others. No riding ability required to enter this one. You do need a unicycle though.Hockey
This year's Unicycle Hockey Championships will take place on Saturday morning or afternoon (group round games) and Sunday morning (Quarters, Semis and Finals). Enter as a team or, if you are not part of a team, you may be able to join a "scratch" team on the day. There should be some small informal hockey games on friday night too. All teams will be expected to provide 1 or more referees for other games. For those new to hockey, the rules can be found hereBasketball
We are experimenting with a regional unicycle basketball competition. Enter as an individual and we'll split people up into regional teams. If you have not played unicycle basketball before but have a bit of basketball experience this is worth a try.Freestyle Competition & Showcase
Unicycle freestyle is a chance to perform a unicycle based routine (with music, costume and potentially props) to an audience and judging panel. The performance is marked in 2 categories, technical (the unicycle skills used) and presentation (style, theme, etc). You'll be allowed 3 minutes for your routine. Bring music on a CD or mp3 player.
There will be a novices competition during Saturday daytime (no minimum standard!), and an intermediate-expert competition/showcase on Saturday evening. If there are sufficient numbers individuals and pairs may be judged separately. If you have a routine for a group of people (more than 2) you can show it off in the freestyle showcase, this will only be a competition if there are more than 2 groups.
